A MIND UNCLOUDED is a hand-rendered type focused piece depicting Rori, an adolescense caught in an apocalyptic word of smog, featuring their tagline: “In a world that’s been seized by smog, you must survive with a mind unclouded.
When strange, gaseous creatures dubbed “The Pollutoids” suddenly and swiftly invade the planet, entering the open orfices of a living species, controlling them from the inside, Rori’s first instict is to look out for number one, that being themself. Leaving their shelter and family behind, Rori sets off to find a space shuttle and get off planet before their lost to the smog.
However, things take an unexpected turn for Rori, when out on a scouting mission, they cross paths with a Pollutoid unlike any other. This one doesn’t seem hostile, and has a strange interest in Rori. Seeing this as a perfect opportunity to study the species, Rori takes in the Pollutoid, naming it Spilth.
Though once Rori’s ship is complete and ready to take off, what will they do once they find out that the only compatible fuel source is that of a Pollutoid?
Designing Rori, I wanted to focus on a bottom heavy look, using baggu space pants to form a fun silouette shape. Rori covers themself in bangages, patches and other forms of cover to protect himself from Pollutoids looking to control their body, but as a child, they tend to have a preference for pastel.
